A 2 hour-long workshop for the YO-MEDIA team on designing game teaching curricula that carefully ensures the preparedness for crisis scenarios was held on the 28th of June in the University of Aveiro at DigiMedia’s research centre. Liliana Costa was the facilitator of this workshop, gathering information on the use of the ‘game-it-yourself’ method to propose a learning programme for crisis communication.
The workshop consisted in the following sections: Introduction and Opening Remarks; Introduction to Game-It-Yourself Canvas; From Stakeholder’s Analysis to Course Requirements; Defining competences, activities, and assignments; Review, Reflection, and Wrap-up.
Divided into two teams, the participants ideated two game-based learning programs, as well as two game concepts. By the end of the exercise, the teams switched papers and tried to better each game. The participants found the process interesting and recognized its importance.
